My Dyna shift lever keeps coming loose and would fall off if it wasn't for the nut that runs in the channel between the splines. The lever shaft runs through the primary and links up to the tranny that way for a mid shift set-up. I have always shifted with the side of my boot and I think this caused this. Now I think the splines are getting worn and won't hold a tightened lever. I do not want to drill through the shaft and run a pin through it. Is there something I can put on the splines that will hold the lever in place? Something like a stripped thread product that won't glue the thing in place and I'll nerver get it loose? Any suggestions?

All I can suggest is for you to replace the shaft or the sleeve. The part #'s for my 2000 dyna wide glide show a shift lever part # 34621-90, and a sleeve, shift lever part # 34632-84B neither of which I can find a price for on the harley web site. Good Luck!

well it works great on threads- the red kind is the strongest-
i dont think its going to work on splines though they will be moving back and forth? right
possibly jb weld- but you will probably be happier with a new part

I had that problem with my 93 FLHTC and all I had to do was replace the lever. The shaft was just fine.

Yeah, you probably need a shaft replacement.

I rode all last season w/ a new FACTORY lever $40 ouch which was the key to keeping it tight. After years of side shifting use this this shaft will need a replacement at some point. Thanks for the responce
